GEPS Announces International Days Observance Initiative for Global Gender Awareness

Gender Priority Strategy (GEPS) is launching a comprehensive International Days Observance Initiative to amplify global awareness and action on critical gender equality issues. This program coordinates strategic campaigns around key United Nations observance days related to women's rights, gender equality, and sustainable development.

The initiative includes International Women's Day (March 8), International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (November 25), World Food Day in connection with our Hunger Solutions project (October 16), and the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign. Each observance features coordinated global activities, policy briefings, educational webinars, and community mobilization efforts.

GEPS regional coordinators across Africa, Europe, and the Americas will lead local observance activities while maintaining alignment with global messaging and advocacy goals. The program includes toolkits for organizers, social media campaigns, research report launches, and partnership events with governments and civil society organizations.

This initiative embodies GEPS' commitment to sustaining momentum for gender equality throughout the year, not just during isolated events. By strategically leveraging International Days, we create multiple entry points for engaging stakeholders, sharing research findings, celebrating progress, and holding decision-makers accountable. Women for Women by Women—together we stand in Solidarity, Strength, and Substance to guarantee our legacy will be remembered!
